Focusing on a psychological and philosophical way to photograph, Simon’s work translates questions that are intrinsic to existing as a human in society, on earth… : questions of identity, belonging, roots, cultural heritage, memory, love.
From his subjective point of view, always expressing a sense of intimacy and of empathy with the subject, he invites the viewer to find resonances with the thoughts and feelings that animate his work. A work where, ultimately, he rushes a sense of homage… : to people - to men and women - to places that are both geographical and emotional - a homage to life. It’s with this approach that he conceives the idea of being a humanist photographer.
